Chair in Orchestral Studies
The University of North Texas College of Music is pleased to announce a campaign to establish the Anshel Brusilow Chair in Orchestral Studies. Led by a generous donation and the personal efforts of Sue and Christopher Bancroft, the campaign seeks to raise one million dollars in endowment to honor our distinguished retiring conductor and to provide a permanent legacy of scholarships for orchestral players, in support of the orchestral program. 95% of the proceeds of the endowment will go directly toward scholarships recommended by the named Director of Orchestral Studies. The remainder will serve as salary enhancement or discretionary funding for the holder of the Chair.
How to Participate

Maestro’s remarkable ability to make every student better and every orchestra achieve the “Philadelphia” sound has been a musical miracle.
— Sue Schrier Bancroft
Anshel Brusilow is a professional's professional, and that really says it all.
— Neil Slater, Director of the One O’Clock Lab Band and UNT Chair of Jazz Studies
I have worked with Boulez, Ozawa, Solti, Dohnanyi, and many others, but I think Anshel Brusilow made the biggest impact on me. Rarely, if ever, have I seen his equal on the podium.
— Jeffrey Rathbun, class of ’81, Oboe, The Cleveland Orchestra
