Jazz Studies

Three areas of emphasis are available at the undergraduate level: instrumental performance, vocal performance, and arranging.
At the master’s level, students earning the M.M. in Jazz Studies may choose an emphasis in performance, composition/arranging, or pedagogy.
The College of Music’s Graduate Artist Certificate in Performance is open to students of jazz.
The division plans to offer the D.M.A. in Jazz Studies in the near future. The proposal is currently being considered by the UNT Board of Regents.
